These built-in bookcases and storage cabinets were designed to fit exactly into the clients study in their country home in Derbyshire.

They were designed in the classic shaker style, which features simple, timeless details.This is the perfect aesthetic to bridge contemporary and traditional.

One of the reasons for the popularity of the shaker style is Its simple, uncomplicated stylings derived from its functionality. This makes it perfect for many homes, where contemporary or traditional styles dont quite fit the surroundings.

The dividing pilasters, like collumns, have a stop chamfer detail to soften the hard edges. The square edged cabinet frames add a luxurious feel. The angular skirting and cornice, again perfectly balancing contemporary and traditional.

This project was built entirely in solid Ash and spray painted in the farrow and ball colour Wevet.
